Looks like fun. I wonder what kind they are. My neighbour borrowed a pair a few years ago and the slog was almost as hard as walking without in deep snow. Obviously they weren’t any good and I wasn’t convinced.
There are two popular styles to choose from these days and we’ve been fortunate to try both.. On the fondue tour we wore aluminum framed snowshoes. There are many brands available, but ours we’re Tubbs. The snowshoes Matt borrowed for us were MSR which have a plastic platform. They had exceptional grip which was great going up and down hills, but they were noisier especially where the snow was icy. We much preferred the bindings on the Tubbs. I’ll be doing some research before we buy to find out which are recommended for the prairies since that’s where they’ll get the most use.
